The Scott River Road Shaded Fuel Break Project is a 71 acre fuels reduction project along the north side of Scott River Road extending from the intersection with Quartz Valley Road to the Klamath National Forest Boundary near Scott Bar Mountain Lookout Road. Treatment involved limbing trees to 8’ above ground, thinning small diameter trees and shrubs, and piling and burning all cut and downed fuels. As of the end of March, the project is near completion and crews are finishing burning fuels as weather permits. The project was partially funded by a National Fire Plan Community Protection Program grant through the Klamath National Forest.
The Access Roads Project was completed April 2006
Our CWPP was signed of by KNF, CDF, and Scott Valley Fire Protection District, and recognized by the Siskiyou County Board of Supervisors spring of 2007.
