Much of Siskiyou County has been rated from high to extreme fire potential by the Fire and Resource Assessment Program (FRAP) Our county has proven to have an active fire history since the recording of such information has existed. Now, with the cutback of much of the fuel reducing practices in the local forest, it has become a question of WHEN, not IF there will be a catastrophic fire somewhere soon in Siskiyou County!

What is the solution? There are many pieces to the puzzle. Public entities, private business, and citizens coming to the table with combined resources and knowledge is a beginning.

The Fire Safe Council of Siskiyou County, as well as the Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) is the "Hub" that can help unite these resources towards a proactive solution to a growing concern. You can help to learn how. Please Contact Dale or Giselle Nova
